Snap HDDown ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at snaphddown.com (the "Service"). We provide a free online tool for downloading publicly accessible Snapchat content. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way connected to Snap Inc. or Snapchat.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you visit or use our Service. By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. What Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use our download tool, you submit a Snapchat URL. We process that URL on our server to locate the media file and return the result. We do not store submitted URLs beyond the lifetime of a single request.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Like almost every web server on the planet, our server receives standard HTTP request data when your browser loads a page. This includes:

• IP address — Used only for session-based rate limiting (max 15 requests/minute). Not logged to disk, not linked to your identity.
• Browser user-agent string — Used to serve the correct page format. Not stored.
• Referrer URL — The page you arrived from, if your browser sends it. Not stored.
• Pages visited & timestamps — Standard server access logs retained for up to 7 days for security and abuse prevention, then automatically deleted.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• ✗ Your name, email, phone, or any contact details
• ✗ Account credentials of any kind
• ✗ Payment information (the Service is free)
• ✗ The media files you download — they come from Snapchat's CDN directly to your device
• ✗ Any biometric or sensitive personal data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the minimal data we receive solely to:

• → Operate and deliver the Service — process your Snapchat URL and return a download link.
• → Rate limiting — prevent automated abuse by limiting requests per session.
• → Security monitoring — detect and block malicious traffic patterns using server logs (deleted within 7 days).
• → Performance improvement — aggregate, anonymous traffic statistics only.

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade any information about you to any third party, ever.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

4.1 Session Cookie

We use a single, strictly-necessary PHP session cookie (PHPSESSID) to enforce our rate limit (15 requests per minute per session). This cookie:

• — Contains only a random session identifier, no personal data
• — Expires when you close your browser (session cookie)
• — Is not used for tracking, analytics, or advertising
• — Is never shared with third parties

4.2 Third-Party Cookies

We load Google Fonts for typography. Google may set its own cookies subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use advertising cookies, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, or any other tracking or analytics services.

4.3 Your Cookie Choices

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will prevent the rate limiter from working correctly but will not otherwise affect your ability to use the Service.

5. Third-Party Services

We do not use any advertising networks, remarketing pixels, social login SDKs, or analytics platforms.

6. Data Retention

• → Session data (rate limit): Discarded when your session expires or your browser is closed.
• → Server access logs: Automatically deleted after 7 days.
• → Submitted URLs: Never stored. Processed in memory and discarded immediately after the response is sent.
• → Downloaded media: Never stored on our servers. Files are served directly from Snapchat's CDN to your browser.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. 8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

• → No sensitive personal data stored, so there is no sensitive database to breach

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect any information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites (for example, Snapchat, Google Fonts). Clicking those links takes you away from Snap HDDown. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
